Stretching DVD

We are all so used to the loud and frenetic pace of exercise videos, that it is a pleasant surprise to experience this calm and serene DVD about stretching.

Before you even begin to get skeptical about the merits of stretching, you need to know that the man doing the stretching on the presentation was almost confined to a wheelchair and a life of being a quadriplegic. It was through the intervention of someone teaching him how to stretch that he was completely cured and has since walked the length of Canada, as well as walking 6,200 miles around the United States.

His wife, who once found it difficult to climb stairs, now can bend and stretch easily and insists that through just doing the fifteen stretching exercises daily she is in better shape than when she was in her teens.

I am impressed with their take it easy approach to each part of your body. Fifteen exercises that have been proven to stretch 95% of your muscles, only take about 15-20 minutes and you come away calm and quiet, not out of breath and sweaty. Their voices are low, the music is soft, and the movements are basic. You are reminded to breath deeply and to only go as far as your muscles will stretch comfortably. “The tension you feel took years to accumulate.” We are reminded. Don’t push yourself to undo it all in one session.

The DVD starts with simple arm stretches that can be done sitting or standing and progresses into simply bending over to the side, and forward. Legwork is done sitting and eventually lying on the floor and a great stretch is given for eliminating headaches.
Stretching is available to everyone regardless of age or lack of flexibility. It will relax your muscles, improve your circulation, make your body stronger, make everyday tasks easier, improve your posture, make you feel better, lessen aches and pains and give you better balance and coordination.

We have been doing the stretches for over a month now, and our flexibility has vastly improved. Our neck and back problems are resolving as our muscles are becoming looser and looser. Stretching actually reduces inflammation! Here is a quote from the couple on the DVD: “people have reported results in healing arthritis, headaches, back/neck/shoulder pain, bursitis, depression, fatigue and even conditions like fibromyalgia. The body has a tremendous capacity to heal, but we have to help it along by taking proper care of it. Stretching is one of the easiest and most effective self-healing tools that I know of. That, along with good food and relaxation is what I like to call the "immune triangle." Take care of those things and you will take care of your health!”

It’s a pleasure to do the fifteen simple stretches, and know that your body is benefiting in so many ways. No special outfits are needed, no memberships or special equipment. Just you, some quiet stretching and very pleasant health benefits. The short and peaceful program is easy to do. You come away refreshed, relaxed and serene. I can’t recommend this highly enough!
