White Chocolate Pear Chardonnay Sauce A Perfect Pear
Looking like a pale, pale golden caramel sauce this sauce is a surprise. It is premium Guittard white chocolate (sugar cocoa butter, milk, soy lecithin, pure vanilla), chardonnay grape juice, organic agave nectar and natural pear flavor. What that means is that it’s white chocolate sweet, with a hint of pear and a chardonnay twist.
It says to stir the contents, but it’s so thick the spoon just stands there! The aroma is unique: a rich, white chocolate hit, but then you pause as you savor the unexpected tang of chardonnay and the flavor is just as surprising and unusual.
White chocolate lovers don’t need to be told that this is sweeter than dark chocolate, but you will want to know that the Chardonnay grape juice tempers it perfectly. It doesn’t detract from it, just gives it that unusual, ‘gotta taste it again’ flavor: sort of like popping a sliver of white chocolate into your mouth after swallowing white wine. The melt is wonderful in your mouth…very creamy and buttery feeling and you keep tasting and dipping just to experience the unique flavor combination.
Put this on anything! Frost cupcakes or cake with it, heat it and pour it over poached pears, use as a fondue dipper or drizzle it hot over chocolate ice cream for a visual contrast. Very unique in flavor and aroma, and very pretty in its presentation, this is gift quality. Just make sure that the person you give it to, shares!
