Oh, Gimme some more of these! Finally, a chocolate candy that is rich, addictive and GOOD for you! Let’s start with the rich and addictive part of the candy….
I remember way back, years ago when you could get REAL malted milk. Not the ‘quick’ variety, but the kind where an inch of crunchy malt sat on top of real, whole, icy cold milk. You chewed that milk as much as you drank it, and the chocolate malt flavor was out of this world. Well, that is what this candy reminds me of! I know it says chocolate candy, but the flavor is like a malt ball, only better! Yes there is real chocolate on the candy, but with the rice puff crunch in the center of the candy, there is a distinct malty flavor to the chocolate. The flavor is malty, the bite is crispy-crunchy and the whole thing melds in your mouth to a satisfying addictive ummmmmmmm!
The GOOD for you part of this candy is that is contains 500mg. of TruCal which amounts to 50% of your calcium needs every day. What a delicious way to get strong bones! What is TruCal? It is a source of natural calcium that is derived from milk that also contains a healthy mineral mix of calcium, magnesium, potassium, phosphorus and iron. This candy, without preservatives, artificial colors or flavors is 100% natural and as far as we’re concerned, MUCH, MUCH better than the little candies that don’t melt in your hand and have artificial colors and chemical added.
Here are the ingredients: milk chocolate (sugar, whole milk, cocoa butter, chocolate liquor, soy lecithin (an emulsifier) and vanilla), crisp rice (rice flour, rice bran, raisin juice concentrate, honey, salt), milk calcium complex, sugar, titanium diozide, caramel, gum arabic, corn syrup and confectioner's glaze (carnuba wax, beeswax, shellac).
There are about 12 pieces in each 1-ounce package and it’s too much like some of the potato chip claims…you can’t eat just one of them! Don’t even try to eat just one of them! You’ll get cranky! Make sure that you have several of these packages on hand as your healthy and totally indulgent snack. Tuck a package in the glove compartment, in your purse, backpack or briefcase. Slip one in your kid’s lunchbox and tuck them in the pocket of a loved one. Chocolate candy is good anytime, but when it’s good for you, well, there’s no excuse.
