Smoked Sablefish Vital Choice
When you think of sable you think ‘silky smooth and luxurious’. This fish is aptly named as it is the most silky, soft, mild and moist fish that any of us have ever tasted.
We had the smoked, oven-ready Sablefish and even after cooking, it was like filling your mouth with subtle smoky butter. Wow!
This fish is not mushy, but it flakes into dripping moist slivers that are pale in the middle and with just the slightest golden red cast to the edges. The color is from the mild alderwood smoke and the flavor combination with this exceptional fish is hard to describe other than using words like ‘rich, buttery and incredible’.
This fish is not common to most Americans although it is an Alaskan fish. Most of this fish is exported to Japan as it is highly prized there, but this supplier makes this fish available to you plain or smoked. It arrives frozen and the serving size is 4-ounces. This fish is so light and delicate that you can cook it from the frozen state and it only takes minutes before its done.
Our best recommendation? Try this amazing fish! All we did with this fish was heat it, and eat it. It needed no seasoning of any kind and everyone agreed that it was phenomenal just as it was. Sablefish. Very, aptly named! It is Purely Silky Smooth and Zingy and is one of our new favorites!
