Plum Currant Ginger Chutney Wild Thymes
A little bit of heat, just enough ginger, rich in plum flavor and with a chew of soft, plump currants, this spicy, delightful chutney has a lightness to it that is unexpected. This is not a gooey chutney, like some, but fresh and fruity while still being full of complexity and spice.
An amazing glaze for fish or pork, this chutney can be added to soups or stews to add complexity and richness. With enough boldness to stand up to beef as a glaze or dip, this unique chutney adds Zing to chicken salad, tuna salad or turkey sandwiches and pairs beautifully with Cheddar, Goat cheese, Stilton and Brie as an appetizer on crackers.
Of course this is a natural to choose when having curry and rice, but the owners also suggest incorporating this into stuffings to keep them moist and ramp up their flavor. If you are new to chutney, this is a lovely one to start with as it is a little lighter than most. If you are a chutney lover, this will not disappoint you in spiciness and complexity, but will delight you with its currant and plum base.
An 11-ounce jar contains prune plums, raisins, cider vinegar, onions, sugar, oranges, garlic, ginger and spices. There is no gluten, the ingredients are all natural without additives, there is a Kosher Seal and it is sulphite, fat and cholesterol free! We love this wonderful chutney and suggest that the next time you have some cooked chicken or turkey available, that you try this in Chutney Chicken Salad
