Ever been to the famous and elegant Tavern on the Green in New York City? Well, if you can’t jet there this weekend, at least you can order some of their amaZing vinegars! The first vinegar is Blackberry Ginger Balsamic Vinegar. This rich and almost sauce-like vinegar is the perfect accompaniment to a salad with meat, pasta or cheese. This vinegar has a mildly fruity flavor that is deep and rich, topped off by the subtle ginger accent that keeps this balsamic from being predictable. Don’t hesitate to drizzle some of this over chicken, or add it to a soup or stew for a flavor lift….it’s one of our favorites and we use it with almost everything!
The second vinegar is Autumn Fig Balsamic Vinegar. If you are a fig lover, this is going to be YOUR favorite vinegar! The richness of fig is accented with vanilla and the balsamic vinegar keeps it from being cloying. It is a great combination of sweet sour, and again, goes beautifully with meat, cheese, rice or pasta recipes. This vinegar is very rich…and would even be great with roasted pears with some vanilla ice cream!
The third vinegar is Citrus on the Green Balsamic Vinegar. For those who want just a great balsamic, this is it! A perfect balance of sweet to sour, rich to light - this balsamic will make any oil and herb combination sing! We like to dollop some into a great olive oil, add some fresh herbs and use this as a dipping sauce for bread or cheese. Be sure to also use this amaZing balsamic as the base for a marinade for ribs…it’s finger-licking good!
