From St. Augustine, the nation’s oldest city comes the rare datil pepper in a fabulous marinade. Thick with spices and herbs (the 7 inch tall bottle had 2 ½ inches of them!) the aroma when you open the bottle is incredible and literally makes your mouth water! Spicy, spicy, spicy, but more piquant than hot, this marinade also makes a fabulous and unusual dip for French bread.
Loaded with goodies, you have to shake and shake the bottle to get the thick goodness all off the bottom. The ingredients are fresh, abundant and wonderful: olive oil, lemon juice, parsley, garlic, brown sugar, soy sauce, datil peppers, onion, salt, white pepper, red peppers and spices. The owner and creator is keeping her unique and flavorful herbs and spice combination a secret!
We marinated a whole, organic chicken for two days, and then roasted it. The chicken was coated in all the herbs and spices, and the crust of it didn’t run off and disappear! The meat was moist and the flavor was rich and satisfying. It couldn’t have been easier to do and would have been just as awesome grilled or baked.
You really must get an extra jar to dip your meat in, as well as to use as a dip for French bread! The cooked flavor is rich and deep, the dipping flavoring is Zingy and addictive. One jar for marinating, and one for dipping: you won’t regret it!
A tall, 8-ounce jar marinates 2 pounds of chicken, beef, pork, venison or seafood. No matter how you cook it; it will be moist and flavorful. This is a great marinade and dipping sauce that you will use over and over!
