Blueberry Bourbon Conserve Vermont Harvest
If you love blueberry like we love blueberry, oh, oh, oh what a conserve! Chewy with walnuts, thick, thick, thick with blueberries and their flavor, and then a hint of bourbon to keep it from being kid-sweet and predictable, this is blueberry heaven!
You can turn the whole jar upside down and shake and shake, and the conserve is sooo thick it will not come out! Hint, get a large spoon and dig deep, and pull out LOTS of this conserve as a little just won’t do!
Spread this over freshly baked and toasted bread with plenty of farm-fresh butter. Push this into half of a hot croissant and sigh at the perfection! Layer this between pancakes and stir this into home-made yogurt for a rich flavor explosion.
The ingredients are blueberries, apples, sugar, raisins, bourbon, walnuts, lemon juice, pectin and spices. Did we mention how thick and rich this conserve is? It is positively loaded with fruit and walnuts giving your mouth something to really chew on!
Not just for an elegant and leisurely breakfast, this conserve makes the most divine sauce for chicken or duck. We don’t know who MaryBeth is, but we sure are grateful that she concocted this recipe.
You can heat this conserve to make a pourable sauce. When you do, be sure to pour it over ice cream, crepes or waffles and don’t forget to use it as a special sauce over your own banana split! Rich, rich, rich, this blueberry, walnut, apple, raisin, bourbon conserve it just divine! Get two or more jars as you will also eat it right off the spoon - its Pure Zing!
