One of our team members is a real jam-hound so to say he pounced on this jar is putting it mildly! The only true ‘jam’ of the entire Vermont Harvest line, this jam is superlative…just like the rest of their products!

Our jam-lover ‘mmmm’d’ and ‘ohhh’d’ over this jam! This is a thick, rich, smooth concoction that is filled with fruit and just a hint of sugar. The ingredients are strawberries, raspberries, bananas, sugar, lemon juice and pectin. This is cooked down and down and down until it’s thick and incredibly fruity.

The fragrance is spicy, the flavor is a rich fruit mélange with a predominant, warm banana overtone, and the color is a deep plum. The jar contains 8-ounces, all of which will disappear quite quickly if your house has a jam-hound too!

This is splendid on cream cheese on a bagel or croissant. Banana muffin or banana bread will sing with this topping it as the banana overtone in this jam is warm and mellow. Spoon this inside a baked apple or dollop this on apple pie with a side of sharp cheddar cheese.

This makes a sophisticated peanut butter and jelly sandwich (try sliced bananas on it!) and enlivens peanut butter on celery too. Spoon this over baked bananas and top homemade yogurt with this for a European Yogurt treat. As you can tell, this is not ‘kid’s stuff’ jam, but a gourmet jam with incredible depth of flavor. The banana flavor is predominant and rich…so don’t expect this to taste like strawberry or raspberry jam; its far more complex and interesting than that…as our jam-lover can attest to!

Well, the jar is empty and there is a very, very satisfied look on our jam-lover’s face. There is also a hopeful look that we will get more of this jam! This is NOT just any old jam. This is Vermont Harvest’s only jam….and when you do something this well, …well, you only need to do it once. Be sure to get two jars of this for your jam-lover. They’ll love it and you!
