Roasted Pepper Pear Vinaigrette
A Perfect Pear

Don’t be fooled by the name of this product into thinking that it is only a dressing for salad. This Roasted Pepper Pear Vinaigrette is so thick and rich that it is also perfect for a pasta sauce, a dip for fish, and a sauce for grilled vegetables.

The ingredients are: roasted red peppers, organic tomatoes, extra virgin olive oil, garlic puree, distilled vinegar, salt, xanthum gum and natural pear flavor. The color is burnt orange red, and the texture is thick with lots of finely chopped ingredients visible, coating the sides of the glass. When you take the lid off the tall 12-ounce bottle, the fragrance is roasted red pepper and garlic. The flavor? It’s wonderful and rich enough to easily eat it by a spoon, which I have done for this testing.

This is a dressing that you can chew. It sits on the spoon without running and the wonderful roasted pepper flavor is the first to come through, followed by tomato, rich olive oil and garlic. It has just enough vinegar to add zing and keep it from being flat. My first inclination is to use this as a pasta sauce with lots of grated cheese, and then I find that is exactly what the owner suggests also. Her salad recommendation is arugula, corn, Parmesan, cherry tomatoes and kalamata olives. As you can see by the pasta and salad recommendations, this is a hearty and full-flavored dressing that can hold its own with stronger foods.

If you like lots of flavor, you’ll like this dressing/sauce/dip. With a beautiful cream colored label with sketch of three pears on a branch, this is lovely enough to give as a gift, but you’ll want to make sure you have several of these bottles on your own shelf.
