Skinny B Breakfast Cereal
Rocket Fuel! Clean breakfast cereal for those who want a sugar free jump start to their day with an organic, non GMO healthy fiber and protein rich cereal that leaves you with a full feeling that lasts longer than lunch. Chewy, crunchy, satisfying. Hearty, earthy flavor. Cereals have been a staple to just about every household around the world and considered the breakfast of choice to jump start the day. But have you read the labels of 95% of the cereals out there? What is the first ingredient? That’s right, SUGAR. And then after that, processed chemicals and coloring with a sprinkling of added vitamins thrown in for good measure. What happens then? The sugar blues rollercoaster takes you down a ride into the dumpster leaving you with the emotional and physical mid morning KERPLUNK with cravings for a candy bar and coffee before the 10 am bell. Never again as PureZing welcomes Skinny B, by Holy Crap, as featured on Canada’s Dragons Den, being touted as the most successful product ever on that program. What is Skinny B? The company boasts the cereal as "One of the world’s most amazing breakfast cereals". Holy crap, that sounds too good to be true, doesn’t it. Ok, that’s why we are reviewing it. Now, I know what you are thinking... Holy Crap? Yup, that’s right. Holy Crap. The name got my attention at a Sav-On grocery store in West Vancouver Canada. I had been looking at the bags of cereal for about 3 months till I finally fell for the name and decided to review the product. Here’s the kicker, the original name, Hapi Foods, was changed to Holy Crap, because when people first started tasting the cereal, "HOLY CRAP" was the first words out of their mouth! Why? Because the cereal tasted so good: "HolyCrap, this tastes good!" I gotta tell you, if the product was still called HapiFoods, we would not be talking about this product today. The name got me. And, interestingly enough, people started reporting they had the best bowel moments ever after they had eaten the cereal! HMMMMMM. That really got me going too! Two good reasons for PureZing to be reviewing this cereal. Now, you might be thinking, "are they at PureZing really talking about bowl movements?". Yes, we really are. We are talking about pooping. I don’t know about you, but I poop. Do you? And when I don’t, I get pretty cranky and feel all bloated and with all those toxins starting to accumulate inside, making me feel like a giant festering composter. Not good. And then a whole bunch of other things start to happen physically and emotionally. Also not good. But when you have a good one, AHHHHH, don’t you feel amazing? But Holy Crap goes beyond a good poop. Holy Crap is about the ingredients and how it fuels us and supports our body for the day. We at PureZing are not reviewing Holy Crap because a Canadian Astronaut took this cereal up to the Space Station, nor are we reviewing it because the cereal made a big splash at the Winter Olympics in Vancouver. NOOOOOOO, we are reviewing this cereal because it is exactly what our mandate is and what you are looking for: Artesian made, organic, non-GMO, gluten free, tasty and fits into your lifestyle. So, let’s get to it. Skinny B is made of 3, all natural (non-GMO) ingredients and composed of some of the oldest perfect foods known to humans: Chia, organic buckwheat, organic hulled hemp seeds. Let’s start off talking about the Chia which expands with liquid and continues to expand in your stomach after you have eaten it, keeping you fuller longer. Now, the Skinny B contains 50% more china than the original Holy Crap breakfast cereal so it really expands, give you a fuller feeling longer and more protein content. A little trivia for you, Chia, or salvia hispanica 1 was once more valuable than gold to the Aztecs. The Tarahumara, the greatest long distance runners on the planet, have had a long history of using this slow burning rocket fuel for both athletes and warriors alike. While many people think that buckwheat is a cereal grain, it is actually a fruit seed that is related to rhubarb and sorrel making it a suitable substitute for grains for people who are sensitive to wheat or other grains that contain protein glutens. Buckwheat flowers are very fragrant and are attractive to bees that use them to produce a special, strongly flavored, dark honey. Buckwheat has a low Glycemic index so is great for blood sugar levels, as well as heart healthy, gluten free, more nutrient dense than many fruits and vegetables. (check out this link for information on buckwheat) http://www.whfoods.com/genpage.php?tname=foodspice&dbid=11 Hemp seeds are an incredible vegan source of biologically available and easily digested protein. Hemp seeds contain all 10 essential amino acids which you cant get from a veg diet. Hemp seeds contain a healthy anti inflammatory 3: 1 ratio of omega 6 to omega 3 fats. Technically, hemp "seeds" are really not seeds at all but actually a fruit. Tiny and round, sort of like tiny weenie sunflower seeds, with a pleasing, mild and slightly nutty flavor without the crunch. Hemp seeds sort of taste like pine nuts, but even mellower and milder flavor. Be prepared when you open the bag and peek inside. It looks like bird seed. And, it kinda tastes like it too, although I have never personally had bird seed, however I am assuming the taste would be similar. All you need is 2 tablespoons. Mix it with 6 tablespoons of almond, hemp milk or organic cow’s milk. Wait for a few minutes to let the chia expand. No cooking is required. You can sprinkle on yogurt, oatmeal or granola; add fresh fruit if you like. You might try some cinnamon. Cinnamon also assists in blood sugar levels and for those of you who have a sweet tooth, lots of cinnamon gives a sweeter taste to food. Sometimes I put HolyCrap in my protein shake to mix things up a bit. Each bag is 8 ounces (225 grams) and contains 8 full servings.
