Our grandmothers and great grandmothers used this to easily clean fruit and vegetables. Vinegar is an antibacterial, is incredibly inexpensive and really cleans!
Put a colander in a large bowl. Put whatever fruit or vegetables that you want to clean into the colander. Put the bowl in the sink and fill with water so that the fruits and vegetables are covered. Add 1-2 Tablespoons of vinegar. Let soak for 5-10.
OR, just put produce in a clean sink and fill with water and add vinegar.
Remove colander from bowl, rinse fruits and vegetables with water and all the dirt and pesticides have vanished down the drain!
This is a great recipe to use on any fruit or vegetable that you bring home from the store. While you are putting the rest of the groceries away, your fruits and vegetables are being cleaned safely, thoroughly and inexpensively!
