You can’t teach and old dog new tricks, but you can give him a new toy and watch him go nuts! Dogs, it is fair to say, are easily amused: for what other reason would they put up with humans?
This plush medium bone dog toy is evidently sheer delight and fun for all canines, regardless of age. The medium size bone is ten inches long and five inches wide at either end. For big dogs, larger size bones up to 14” are available.
This toy bone is covered with super soft, but TOUGH organic cotton on one side, while the other side is of dye-free organic fleece. Embroidered squares taken from recycled felt and wool sweaters decorate the bone on one corner. That little square made me think that’s where the squeaker was. Nope! Guess again. OK, the squeaker is…. oh I give up!
Actually, the squeaker is in a fabric packet, in the center of the bone so that it’s protected. Don’t say we didn’t tell you! If you prefer no squeaker, that’s fine. You can order a squeaky bone, or a non-squeaky one in case you fear non-stop noise from your besotted pet.
Go ahead give the dog a bone and see if you can get it away from him. Our test dog Snorkey, a stout dachshund, got scrappy when we tried to remove the toy! He spent a large portion of the day nuzzling it, chewing on it, growling at it, sleeping on it, carrying it room to room and squeaking it, like it might run off on him if he let go.
Later in the evening when Snorkey appeared without the toy bone, we all wondered where the coveted treasure was hidden. Sure enough, he had buried it under the rug inside the indoor dog house, assuring at least in his mind, that no other dog would ever find his certified organic dye-free toy.
