PureZing did an interesting homework project: we found out what is in most carpet cleaners! Needless to say, none of them have their ingredients on their labels, but we found out that grocery store, mainstream carpet cleaners contain some of the most toxic ingredients of all cleaning products!
So, it was with great fanfare that we tested and tried this non-toxic, chlorine and ammonia-free carpet cleaner. This is a concentrate that is for use in carpet cleaning machines and it comes in a 32-ounce container. It’s as easy as gently shaking the bottle and measuring one cup of the concentrate into a gallon of hot water in the carpet cleaning machine. Then, clean as usual…and this product does clean!
The ingredients are surfactants from fatty acids, coconut, tallow, potassium salts, glycerin and an emulsifier on the same level as baby shampoo. Sounds pretty tame considering the carcinogenic and toxic chemicals that we read about in carpet cleaners that most people buy. But, you don’t need toxicity to clean with, you just need surfactants and emulsifiers to cut oils and loosen and remove dirt. That’s all! And that’s what’s in this non-irritating, toxin and heavy metal-free product that is safe for children and pets.
You may not have babies crawling on the carpet.
