Pepper Jelly A Perfect Pear
There is a rich, warm, low, full-flavor to this pepper jelly that suggests heavier meats and cheeses, full-bodied red wines, fireplaces and slow spits on barbeques.
A garnet color, this pepper jelly is thick with chopped ingredients that give a light chewy texture, and blossom into further experiences of sweet, sour or tingly. Although a jelly, it almost has chutney punch.
The ingredients are organic sugar, a pepper blend (roasted red peppers, habanero, serrano, and jalapeno peppers), cider vinegar, onions, citrus pectin and lemon juice concentrate.
Not too hot, this jelly’s color, texture and taste would go well as a glaze on sausages, as a Zingy layer in a rich quiche, as a topping for fragrant cheese and crusty bread. This is not a tea and toast jelly, but a hearty addition to already substantial foods. The aroma is onion with vinegar and way in the distance, an inhalable heat.
This is a flavorful as well as interesting to look at pepper jelly.
