It’s not often that our team is surprised - and pleasantly surprised at that – but this scrub wowed us with its totally different formulation.

Now, most of you (and us, until we used this scrub) thought that about the only differences in scrubs were fragrance, and whether it was a salt base or a sugar base. Ok, there are differences in the liquid oils in which the salt or sugars are suspended, but what if there was NO obvious liquid oil base? Yeah, this is a sugar scrub without the sugar being suspended in liquid oil.

What is the formulation? The sugar and fragrance are in Shea butter! Now a good Shea butter is rich and thick, so imagine our surprise when we dipped our hands in expecting a liquid oil and sugar slurry, and instead we encountered something more along the lines of a creamy butter.

WOW! Talk about being able to keep the sugar on your skin and scrub a dub-dub! This smoothes on just like a butter and makes the sugar really cling and cling. Then, when you are ready to rinse the sugar off, the Shea butter has been rubbed into your skin (remember all that scrubbing that you were able to do with the sugar firmly held on your skin in this creamy mixture?) instead of a large portion of liquid oil dripped on the shower floor and washed down the drain. The Shea butter stays on you as it has been thoroughly massaged into your skin.

What a concept! What an experience! In a tough plastic resealable wire bail snap container this thick, rich, no-drip scrub leaves your skin positively baby soft, fragrant and super moisturized. The ingredients are Shea butter, safflower oil, canola oil, sweet almond oil, apricot kernel oil, sugar, pumpkin seed oil, Noni and red rose’s perfume. What is Noni? It is a fruit that grows in tropical areas and is filled with fiber, protein, iron, vitamin C, calcium, zinc, bioflavanoids, plant sterols, alkaloids and phytonutrients. For a long time, Hawaiians have used this fruit in ointments as a skin healer for cuts and bruises.

So there are some other liquid oils, but they have been completely mixed with the Shea butter so that there are no drips. It looks like creamy, almost white butter with sugar in it…and it spreads and melts into your skin so easily. You emerge from a shower or bath absolutely glistening with moisturizing oils, and slathered with fragrance.
